Christian Education
Advent
offers a variety of opportunities to grow spiritually and in the knowledge of
God's word.
Sunday
School:
Classes meet Sundays (except during Summer) at 9:15 am for ages 3 through adult.
Advent Pre-School:
A Christian pre-school is available for age 3 and 4 children
Vacation Bible School:
A one-week VBS is offered each summer, check our calendar for dates.
Bible Study:
Pastor Sorcek teaches the adult Bible classes on Sunday at 9:15 am, and
Wednesday at 10:00 am.
First Communion Instruction:
A five-session program is offered each Lent for students in the fifth grade.
Confirmation Instruction:
Advent's confirmation program is for 7th and 8th grade youth. The first year
(7th grade) program offers an overview of the Bible and is taught by a lay
teacher. Pastor Sorcek teaches the second year (8th grade) class which studies
Martin Luther's Small Catechism to learn basic Christian teachings. Confirmation
class youth are expected to participate regularly in worship, Sunday school and
a one-hour class on Monday evenings through the school year.
